Cathy Weeden Vice President and General Manager, Gator Sports Marketing IMG College Cathy Weeden is Vice President and General Manager of Gator Sports Marketing, the division of IMG College that manages the marketing and media rights for University of Florida athletics. Weeden is responsible for all aspects of the property sales rights, which includes television, radio, Internet, and corporate partnerships. Prior to joining IMG College, she served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Fox Sports Florida and Sun Sports (formerly Sunshine Network), two regional sports television networks serving the state of Florida. At Fox, Weeden was responsible for all aspects of the networks' ongoing operations including programming, production, advertising sales, marketing and promotions, affiliate relations, media relations and administration. She negotiated and oversaw the network's programming agreements and relationships with its team partners including the Florida Marlins, Florida Panthers, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Rays, Florida State University, University of Florida, as well as the SEC and ACC conferences. Weeden joins IMG College with 16 years of management experience at regional sports networks. A native Floridian, she joined Sun Sports originally in 1990 and held positions overseeing affiliate sales and marketing, as well as a role as Assistant GM from 1996-1999. She returned to Sun Sports in 2002 as VP/GM after serving in that capacity at Fox Sports Arizona for two years. Following the 2005 acquisition of FOX Sports Florida by News Corporation, Weeden was named VP/GM for both FOX Sports Florida and Sun Sports. In May of 2007, Weeden was promoted to Senior VP/GM. Multichannel News, a leading cable publication, and Women in Cable & Telecommunications honored Weeden as one of 12 "Wonder Women" in cable television for 2006. A graduate of the University of Central Florida (UCF) with a B.A. in Journalism, Weeden received the University's 2008 Distinguished Alumni Award and after having been honored with the Professional Achievement Award from UCF's College of Arts and Sciences in 2002. In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors and is Chairman of Florida Citrus Sports (Capital One Bowl, Champs Sports Bowl); serves on the Dean's Executive Council, College of Arts and Sciences, UCF; and on the National Policy Advisory Board, UCF Sports Business Management Program.
